As a claims manager my goal was always to return the employee to
their per-injury job with no restrictions and no risk of further injury.
Employers should always develop a clear goal for injured employees with
reasonable time frames. Once the rehabilitation plan has been developed
and signed off it becomes the employer’s responsibility to ensure the
plan is executed. In other words, the employer must manage the claim.
Received a Bachelor of Arts in Russian and Area Studies from Texas Tech University, Lubbock Texas in 2005. Worked in customer service/telecommunications for AT&T wireless for before entering the insurance industry in 2007 as a workers' compensation adjuster with Liberty Mutual Insurance. In that role I adjusted claims for Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. After that, went to a growing insurance company and adjusted workers compensation claims for 10 states. The focus was primarily on PEO, construction and assigned risks. A wealth of knowledge was obtained in enrolling small companies in Texas HCNs. In 2012 began work at Travelers Insurance as an investigator.
